H2o- Author's Note

I was first inspired to write this blog book when I saw the blog, the wallflowers. I used to be a wallflower, but I've learned to come out of it as I've made new friends in middle school.  I will be posting a chapter every week, or maybe some days in between. It is a work in progress, so no heavy criticism, please! I am only 11, but I hope I can make a difference with this book. Thank you!

Chapter 1

My heart thumped as I put on my goggles and tucked my hair into my swim cap. There was only the rest of the swim team there, but it felt like the world was watching, waiting for me to screw up. I had always been a wallflower, but the swim team was my chance to shine. All I had to do was show I was good enough to join. "This is it", I thought, and jumped in to the water.

"MOMMY!" I groaned and sat up, only to see my 3 year old baby brother screaming for his mom at 2 in the morning, like he always does. "Well, at least he's not screaming at 1:00 anymore," I thought to myself. Yawning, I pulled myself out of bed, grabbed Joey by the hand, and led him into my mom and dad's room, grunting "Joey". I walked back, jumped into my bed and snuggled into the covers, but I was awake. After some tossing and turning, I drifted off to sleep.
